    Firewood Experiments and Studies

      Definition

      Hardwood and softwood, main wood types, have the same energy content and similar heat outputs, but the main difference is in the rate at which the fuel burns.

      Fresh-cut wood will contain much moisture; this wood is not a good candidate for use. For good heat results dry wood should be used instead.
